Back from vacation! I really need to update more but hey I lead a really boring life. Except for an occasional vacation thrown in my days are pretty monotonous. (Work, housework, sleep and some exercise for stress relief.)
So, vacation was a relaxing 4 days on the beach in Daytona, Florida. I went by myself. My friend and travelling buddy just had knee surgery and she got a demotion this year so she wasn't able to go. I don't mind gong alone and was actually really looking forward to being alone....there were times that I felt extremely lonely. More so than when I'm at home. I have lots to keep me busy when I'm at home. On vacation, I do a lot of people watching and it's rare to see anyone else alone. Couples, Couples with kids, single parents with kids. But no one completely alone like me.
Not that I was moping the entire time. I seen a movie, walked on the beach every morning, swam in the ocean, enjoyed the smells and sound of the ocean, got a nice tan, read two books, had a delicious Mahi-Mahi sandwich, had several tropical drinks and came back home exhausted. So much for a relaxing vacation. Wednesday morning I got up early to savor my last day on the beach and then my flight in Atlanta was late so didn't get home till 2am. I was suppose to have a 3 hour lay over in Atlanta but it turned into 5 hours. Luckily, I ran into a former co-worker and her new hubby coming home from their honeymoon. So, the time went faster catching up with her. Funny, every time I'm in an airport 40, 400 or 1000 miles away I almost always run into someone I know.
I am up a couple pounds from vacation. Eating wasn't really enjoyable. Nothing really hit the spot. Plus when I home I usually eat out with friends and share a meal. I felt kind of funny going into a restaurant by myself and then only eat about 1/4 of my meal. I got weird looks for my waitresses. They keep asking me if everything was okay. The best place I ate was a bar that served a great grilled Mahi-Mahi sandwich. The fish was so tender it fell apart and it was seasoned just right. I love seafood. You just can't get good seafood around here. And everything is fried and breaded.
So, now it's time to get busy and lose some weight. More later...
