About the support meeting: I went to one on Tuesday before TG. My counselor was very impressed with my loss. She said with my short stature and body type she doesn’t see that big of a loss so soon. I voiced that I was at a standstill and felt like I was taking in too much food. She reminded me that this was a typical time that people stop losing or even gain. See, my band doesn’t have any fluid in it right now. So, it isn’t tight around the stomach. Right after surgery, your stomach is swollen and irritated so it feels like you are restricted. That’s why I couldn’t eat much right after surgery. Now, my stomach is virtually healed and so I can eat anything I did before. At my doctors office they do the first fill at 6 weeks. When they fill you, they put fluid in the band to make the ring around you stomach expand inward. As you eat food fills the upper part of your stomach and you get full faster. The food slowly filters down into your lower stomach and is digested. So, until my fill I have to be very careful with what I eat. The best advice I’ve heard is just because you can eat it, doesn’t mean you have to.

Sorry, i haven't been posting. Just a busy time of the year. Tuesday will be 4 weeks post-op.

I'm eating everything but in much smaller portions, of course. I've already had one PB episode. It was because I was in a hurry and didn't chew well. I think my biggest struggle is not drinking during meals. I was the kind of person that could drink 2-3 glasses with my meals. Luckily, my co-worker are looking out for me at work. They keep catching me drinking when I forget.and they offer to split meals with me when we go out to eat.

I've lost 19 pounds since stating the pre-op diet but I've been stalled for over a week. I think my body is changing though. My theory is at first my body lost water and now it's starting to lose fat. I have a taninta scale with fat %. At first I was losing weight but the fat % went up and now I'm staying steady but the fat % is going down. While the fat % has never been incredibly accurate, I've been able to use it to see trends in fat gain and loss. So, I think I'm going in the right direction.

I'm not scheduled for a fill til December 15th. I'm going to have to be very careful till then. I'm going to be using Fitday to track my calories.
